Thanks for visiting RWJF's discussion forum about the best ways to implement our six policy priorities for reversing the childhood obesity epidemic by 2015. Although we are no longer accepting new posts – the forum was open from July 19 to August 16, 2010 – we invite you to peruse the contributions from our program officers, grantees and other people interested in solutions to childhood obesity.

This discussion forum had six topic threads—one for each policy priority. RWJF began developing these priorities after hearing from our partners in the field that a sharper policy agenda could help all of us to maximize our impact.

We spent much of the past year evaluating possible priorities based on:
1) potential to have a major impact on childhood obesity prevalence;
2) strength of the evidence base;
3) potential to reduce racial and ethnic disparities; and
4) timeliness and feasibility.

RWJF staff members posted the first message in each thread, which described the priority more fully and asked some questions to get the discussion rolling. These individuals then acted as hosts for each thread and posted messages to respond to comments and offer their own thoughts.

Thank you to all who participated for sharing your time and ideas with us.
